US Department of Energy Contract:The SynTerra Energy team, in collaboration with partner organizations, was awarded a $25 million US Department of Energy contract that began in 2010 to further demonstrate and commercialize the Syntrex™ technologies. |
Renewable Fuels:
SynTerra's Syntrex™ D1 synthetic diesel fuel is a hydrocarbon diesel fuel that is a direct replacement for petroleum derived diesel fuels. Syntrex™ D1 is being sold as a premium diesel fuel blend since it qualifies both as a cellulosic derived diesel fuel and has premium fuel properties including a high cetane number (giving it better auto-ignition qualities), very low aromatic content (which results in lower NOx and particle emissions), and no sulfur (allowing it to qualify for low sulfur diesel standards).
